This week I worked with watercolor and painted a bunch of elements related to the line theme. I scanned them in and played around with the different shapes and ended up putting these together. I think it would work well in black and white, too.
On a bit more technical side, I've been experimenting with different ways of repeating patterns digitally and haven't mastered the right seamless method yet. I can make elements repeat easily through Illustrator's automatic pattern tool but they aren't placed exactly how I want them. For next week, I'm taking a Skillshare class on making seamless patterns with Illustrator manually so I have more control with the placement. The theme is going to be botanical which I'm pretty excited to start drawing. I really love designing patterns and can't wait until I feel comfortable with the whole process.
I'll be working on a free download, a desktop wallpaper, for you lovely readers to use soon as well!
