I have two new patterns this week! Last weekend, I tried out gouache painting for the first time and I fell in love. I will definitely be using it on a regular basis now. I always liked watercolor before, but have seen so many illustrators using gouache and wondered what it was like. It's more opaque and saturated in color; the ratio of the pigment to water is also higher than watercolor. The name refers to the Italian word guazzo, which is an opaque painting method (thanks Wikipedia).
I think these could be fun on tea towels! I debated having a white background (which I always gravitate towards) but thought these bright pops of color are fun for spring.
