I'm lucky enough to be moving my office space out of my home and into an actual office building/multimedia studio space! I have another exciting announcement to make soon, but for now, I can't stop thinking about how I'm going to organize and decorate my new space! Hence, a post filled with lovely and inspiring creative offices. Right now, the room I am moving into is FILLED with stuff we need to get rid of and is definitely in need of a paint job. It has some dark blue carpeting which is not ideal, but I plan on putting a cute patterned rug over it (I'm liking this one in grey and this one in peach). There is one skinny floor to ceiling window - just enough to add a big plant and get at least a little natural light in.
I'm trying to stick to a budget - under $1000 for painting, furnishing, and decorating. That's a little higher than I want to spend but I want to be realistic. This is roughly what I'm thinking:
Paint and supplies: $60-80 / Desk: $200-250 / Chair: $50-100 / Rug: $150 / Bookshelf: $50-100
Floor lamp: $50 / Plants: $50 / Drawers/file cabinet: $100-150 / Misc or organization: $100
I plan on hitting up garage sales and thrift stores, so some of these may be generous- fingers crossed I find some good deals!
It's really important to me that it is a cozy, fun, and inspiring place to work to help boost my motivation and productivity. I will post before and after pics, and prices on everything/where to buy for those interested in budgeting, when it's done in a couple of months! Now, check out 10 gorgeous offices, which all have amazing natural light of course, below.
I just love the taste and design sensibility over at Design Love Fest! She uses the best colors and always has the right mix of sophistication and fun.

Man, those windows and the floor are great. Love the open feel and those tall book shelves.
Details I love: The open area and those vintage green flat files!
I had to include two pictures because I appreciate everything about this space, especially the color and rich textures. I think I'm going to have to recreate that circle shelf!
Details I love: The painted circle shelf, the colorful textiles, pale pink with green plants

This is a little more art studio than office with the concrete floors, but I'm digging the shelves for art and heavy use of white.
Details I love: The white drawers (I plan on getting some like them) + the "I'm Ok" art
Perfect inspiration for a little office reading nook - just add tea.

This is pretty simple but I like how organized it is. There is of course a large gorgeous window so you can't go wrong there, but I like the desk and homey feel the textiles add.
